These protests were the direct result of deep rooted resentment against China’s policies in Tibet, including the suppression of religious freedom, legal injustice, and the denial of civil, political, economic, and cultural rights. The following is an overview of the events in Tibet in the Spring of 2008 as reported to the Tibetan Center for Human Rights and Democracy by verified sources.
